On the Waistband (OWB) holsters

Everybody offers OWB holsters, we just think ours are better. OWB holsters are offered with belt slots or snap loops. OWB Holsters are available with reinforced mouth, sweat flap, thumb break, and in strongside or crossdraw configurations (or both!).

OWB holsters are more common for open carry than IWB holsters, and therefore people want them to look nice. Most of the exotic skin holsters we make are OWB designs.

Belt slot holsters (Catchy name coming soon!) - $80

Simpler than snap belt loops, slots are part of the holster body itself. The belt slots can be made so that the holster can be worn as a strong side holster or crossdraw. A thumb break comes standard on this holster, a must for open carry and a good choice for hunting too. During the draw stroke, your thumb naturally pushes aside the tab, unsnapping the strap which holds the gun in the holster. This holster, of course, is available without the thumb break.

This holster is a good choice for open carry due to it's simple elegance and professional look - not to mention that there is plenty of high-visibility room for nice exotic skin trim like shark skin, or as seen on the left, stingray skin. Exotic skin costs extra based on cost and availability of skin.

This holster is great for hunting and carrying larger guns like the Smith & Wesson N-frame revolvers because the belt slots can be reinforced. On the right you can see a belt slot reinforced with a horsehide insert sewn in between the cowhide layers.

What do you get for $80?

These features are standard with the OWB belt slot holster. Other features, such as exotic skin or extra belt slots, can be added at additional cost; or a feature like the thumb break may be omitted for a discounted price. All customization, such as ride height or cant, is free. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

  • Two belt slots (one on each side)
  • Molded front sight channel
  • Your choice: thumb break or third belt slot
  • Any color dye (or natural leather)

The Knight Six: Snap belt loop holsters - $90

Snap belt loops make it easier to put on and remove the holster - removing your belt is not necessary. Some designs, where the loop folds up from the bottom, require you to awkwardly hold the holster in position while you pull the loops up behind the belt. Our snap belt loops are more convenient to use, because they fold down from the top so that you can hook the holster on the belt by the loops, and snap them at your leisure.

The problem with this type of loop is that anything sweeping downward along the belt can unsnap the loop. So, our solution is to provide a small "hood" into which the tip of the belt loop fits. No more accidental unsnapping!

The steel reinforced mouth is available on the Knight Six, although it is not as necessary as on an IWB model because the belt is not putting any pressure on it. This particular holster has sharkskin trim over the steel reinforced mouth, as well as sharkskin tips on the belt loops.

This holster is for a commander-sized 1911 with a tactical rail. A standard 1911 will fit of course, but a special holster had to be made to accommodate the rail. Once again, each holster is made individually, and it's no problem for us to accommodate each customer's unique gun or needs.
