This holster is named after Megan, co-owner of Kellogg Custom Leather. She designed this holster for herself, after finding that none of our other holsters would work for her. Whereas a standard men's holster may conspire with a woman's hips to push the gun into her ribs, this holster works with the hips to help conceal the gun.

The Megan Magnum rides a bit lower, and fits into the hollow of the hip near the appendix, at about the 1 or 2 o'clock position. It sits low enough to be easily drawn, but high enough not to poke the thighs when sitting. The gun rides completely vertical - this angle is to maximize comfort, and the holster was designed around this location and position of the gun. (If the gun was tilted forward, it would be uncomfortable to wear and difficult to draw - if the gun was tilted rearward, the holster would be unstable. If you don't want to wear the gun at 1 o'clock, or you don't want it vertical, another design would be more comfortable and more stable.)

The belt loops are snap closed, the first of which is mounted off the body of the gun to reduce thickness. The second loop is located above the trigger guard, to free up the space under the grip, for maximum ability to obtain a solid grip for the draw.

The mouth is reinforced with a single piece of spring steel, for easier one-handed reholstering - the holster mouth stays open after the draw. The front sight is protected by a deep channel as well.

It also features a reinforced sweat flap with a dual purpose: it prevents the sharp bits of the gun (the slide, safety, hammer, etc.) from poking into your side, and also protects the gun from your sweat. The sweat flap is reinforced with another spring steel insert, to prevent it from folding over the mouth of the holster after the gun is drawn.

Also available is the Megan Special, which is the same as the Megan Magnum except that it lacks the reinforced mouth and sweat flap. It is still concealable, stylish, and stable. It is thinner than the Megan Magnum, due to the lack of mouth reinforcement. If you like the Megan Magnum but thickness is a concern, this is the holster you want.
